Car Story
The EM1 Honda Civic Si was sold in the United States for only 2 years (1999-2000). It was the first time ever that Honda offered the Civic Si: 1) as a Coupe and not as a hatchback and 2) positioned the Si as the top-of-the-line Civic with a completely different and more powerful engine than the EX trim, the 160 hp DOHC VTEC B16A2 engine from the Del Sol VTEC. This EM1 was purchased new in Waldorf, Maryland with a [sticker](https://provobook.com/photos/138) price of $17,985. The purchase [invoice](https://provobook.com/photos/139) on September 2, 2000 shows a final purchase price of $19,293.25 with dealer installed options of: - Spoiler ($480) - Cassette Player ($245) The car was purchased by a school teacher who stated she purchased this as a second car and that her daily driver was a 1997 Honda Accord (as discussed in the comments of the [BaT](https://bringatrailer.com/listing/2000-honda-civic-56-2/) listing). Modification made by the original owner: - July 2018 installed aftermarket exhaust and air intake. - Window tint. - Installed receiver hitch. August 2021: invoice showing aftermarket exhaust and air intake were removed and the factory exhaust and air intake were reinstalled. After owning the car for the 21 years, the original owner listed the car for sale on [Bring a Trailer](https://bringatrailer.com/listing/2000-honda-civic-56-2/) and sold it in October 2021. After purchasing and taking delivery of the car, modifications and issues noted with the car were exactly as described in the BaT listing: - Rock chip in windshield. - Small dent on the hood. - Window tint and receiver hitch. - Various scratches and chips in the paint and on the wheels, consistent with the age and mileage of the car. - Included with the car was a set of brand new, never installed, OEM fog lights. The car's Electron Blue Pearl (B95P) paint remains 100% factory original. Electron Blue was introduced for the first time ever on any Honda with the EM1 and was the only color exclusively available on the Si model. September 2026 [Carfax](https://provobook.com/photos/145) report shows no accidents, clean title, and no mileage discrepancies. This car is 100% stock. A rare unmodified OEM survivor of one of the most desirable tuner cars ever produced.
